Welcome to The Middle School of Excellence!
Greetings Senator Nation!
I am Sherrie Sudler and I am so excited to be a part of this middle school journey as Principal for the School of Excellence. It has been an honor to become a Senator and support students as they transition into young adulthood on the interconnected middle school campus of Excellence and Innovation.
Before accepting the role as a Principal of the School of Excellence, I served as an Assistant Principal at Everett Meredith Middle School in the Appoquinimink School District. At Meredith, I supervised the student services team, special education, operations, core classes, and career and technical education. My service also included planning and opening the new state of the art building in Middletown. Prior to my service at Meredith, I was a Career and Technical Education Teacher at Appoquinimink High where I built the K-12 Teacher Academy for the first three years. Prior to that, I was an ELA teacher at Louis L. Redding Middle School for 10 years, so I come to you with middle school experience. In fact, I also have experience as an elementary Teacher for a total 19 years of experience as a teacher.
I have also had my hand in many things outside of the classroom as well. I am on the executive board of a national educational sorority, National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc., and other community-based organizations.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood/ Elementary Education from Neumann University (Aston, PA), a Master of Education in School Leadership from Wilmington University (New Castle, DE), and am currently pursuing my Doctoral degree specializing in curriculum, instruction and assessment from Walden University (Minneapolis, MN).
For all of you runners in Senator Nation, I love running, and have run 30 half marathons and 3 full marathons. As a part of this journey in joining the Senator Nation, my parents Gloria and Ben Brown, have been my support system.
My work in education also includes FAME Delaware (Forum to Advance Minorities in Engineering). There I have facilitated various panel discussions, taught English and been a curriculum specialist for grades K-12.
I look forward to the goals we can accomplish from our inspiration, innovation, and implementation. #SenatorProud
